Our History. Christmas Tree Lane began in 1920 with a single tree that was decorated to honor a child who had passed away. The tradition has grown every year for almost 100 years and is a staple of Fresno's holiday traditions.
The First Tree. In 1920, a child passed away in a home on N Van Ness Blvd in Fresno. That year, a tree in front of the home was decorated to honor the memory of the child. Since then, more lights have been added every year and Christmas Tree Lane continues to grow.
